With the passage of time fishing has become a recreational sport and many carry out this activity as their favorite pass time. Catering to this fancy, many sophisticated fishing accessories are readily available in market. These include rod, reel, line, hooks, baits and artificial lures like spinners or ‘dry flies and fishing tackle.

Now what is a fishing tackle? Actually tackle is a tool used by fishermen while fishing. Generally any equipment used by fishermen for fishing can be called tackle. This may include lines, floats, waders, rods, reels, sinkers, baits, hooks, lures, gaffs, spears, nets, traps, and tackle boxes. Fishing tackle changes with the change in fishing techniques.

Walking from one shop to another can turn really hectic and you might land up buying a low quality product due to dearth of choices. In online shopping however you can shop from the comfort of your home and are floored with choices. Besides, you can even select a particular price range that you can afford. With many online shopping websites emerging today shopping for fishing equipment is just a click away. Now, you can shop almost anything sitting in your home and without virtually going to market. It has been found that online shopping is comparatively cheaper and more relaxing than virtually going to market and buy products. For those who are passionate about fishing and pursue the activity as a hobby here´s the good news.

Now there are many shopping portals that offer the prospect of online shopping. Most of these sites have some excellent fishing accessories for sale. The products are sold cheap because the suppliers buy these products in discounted price and in bulk. Now you must be thinking how to buy products online? To make online shopping convenient there are many sites that list their products in an order, helping you to select your required products easily. Some of these sites divide their products under certain categories as, fishing tackle shops, coarse fishing, sea fishing tackle and many more.

All you need to do here is to choose your desired category and select the items that exactly match your requirements. To get some more relevant details you can even call them or drop a mail on the address given in the website. Just go on selecting the items you require. Make your payments online or you can even pay through demand draft if there is scope. Once you are through with your shopping, proceed to checkout from the website.

With so many shopping sites coming in, buying products online has become a very easy task. Most of these shopping sites have a large collection of products ranging in different price category. Apart from selling their products all these sites also share important relevant details about their products. You can easily go for a product and acquire complete details about it. Go for ordering the products only, once you are satisfied with the information. At last whether you buy a simple fishing tackle or some other fishing accessory online, never forget to follow a thorough market research.

How much to tip the crews ?

Tipping in Guatemala is not widely practiced – although it has become the norm in certain services, particularly – as you would expect – in any provided directly to tourists and foreigners. We are frequently asked “What is considered normal tipping practice when fishing”, to which we generally advise that a tip of $125-175 per boat per day is probably average. The wide range should be primarily determined by factors such as – #1 is how hard did the crew work for you ? Were they watching the baits ALL the time ? Were they changing out the baits on a regular basis to avoid them becoming “washed out” ? Were the considerate and asking how YOU would like to fish rather than how they normally fish ? – How big is the party fishing – the tip referenced above assumes 4, so if more or less there is a case for adjustment – Were you provided with snacks, food and drink as and when you want it ? Were your needs anticipated? – Did the captain work hard to find fish ? Was he successful ?

While the tip should not necessarily reflect the number of fish caught, there IS a correlation between o Number of fish caught and effort/work provided o Number of fish raised to efforts to scout a productive area and find what baits are working In all cases of course, the tip is discretionary, and should reflect the level of service provided and your satisfaction with the crew.

These opinions on what is customary are suggestions only and you should use them as guidelines. Consider however that there can be a divergence in custom between local crews – and “Professional” or “International” Captains.

The prime season in Guatemala is relatively short compared to many other destinations, and so there is a “school of thought” that says that Captains and crews have a need to compress earnings into a shorter time – and so the average needs to be higher. We will leave that up to the individual to consider. Tipping for other services

A general “rule of thumb” that is realistic, is that if you are receiving service from someone who primarily deals with tourists/anglers – then use judgement to tip as appropriate. Of course hardly anyone is going to refuse a tip, but some examples of what is customary maybe : – Maid in a villa : $5/day total for the group unless there is a lot of laundry or extra cleaning to be done – Chef/Waitress in a private villa : $25/day for the group between them. The chef is usually the “leader” ’so a tip left for him/her would be shared amongst the rest of the team – Drivers – only expect to tip if they help substantially with luggage ($1/bag), or if they go out of their way to help (run an errand for example) – Tour guides – maybe 10% of the total cost, or approximately $2/hour spent with them – this can be different as well depending on anglers fishing, size of group etc.

Salaries in Guatemala are low compared to US or European standards, to give you an idea (and perhaps to help gauge the “value” of a tip :

- Unskilled day labour – you may see people picking fruit or cutting grass with a machete in the central reservation for example : $8-10 per day

- Moderate skilled office or shop worker : $350/month

- Skilled but not professional (may speak English for example) : $500/month

- “Professional” (accountant, bank sub-manager, store manager) : $1000/month

Of course, just like anywhere, there is a small percentage of folks (mainly in the city) that earn a substantial amount of money, but for the most part, compensation is relatively low – and so a tip (or “propina”) can be very meaningful.

Fishing in Guatemala has predominantly been for Sailfish to date – but there is evidence of an emerging Marlin fishery as well.

The same deep blue water that attracts and holds bait in vast quantities, also attracts predators – and as you move up that food chain, in the end you get to one of the most efficient predators in the oceans – the Blue Marlin.

The productive waters already hold records for numbers of billfish – including most in a day on conventional (124) and on the fly (57)….as well as most in a season. The same factors that attract such numbers of Sailfish also contribute to the catch rates of Blue Marlin interspersed with Black Marlin at times.

The fishery is largely undeveloped for Marlin, as the fleet is relatively small and the charter operations to date have always focused attention and tactics that target Sailfish – but even with the smaller baits and slower trolling speeds we have seen a consistent trend of improving raises for Blues that average 350-400lbs.

Certainly the deep waters hold large Blue Marlin as well – pelagics up to a thousand pounds have been recorded, but it does seem that the area predominantly holds juveniles in the 400-500lb range. Interspersed with the Blues are Black marlin as well ‘that tend to be larger on average, but the numbers tend to be fewer – perhaps only one in twenty marlin raised in Guatemala are Blacks.

Because the fleet have not regularly targeted the Marlin, it is largely unknown as to the full potential – but we do have experience over past seasons of most boats raising at least one fish per day when the runs have been on.

This trend has only been improving in recent years – perhaps we are more “tuned in” to the fish and so more alert to spot them, perhaps the interest has in itself driven better reporting – or maybe the greater volume of visiting fishermen in recent years have helped – and more days on the water inevitable drives more fish raised and so more marlin observed.

Whatever the cause – the fact is that more and more visiting anglers are now regarding Guatemala not just as the premier sailfish destination in the world, but also the home of a strong and developing marlin fishery.

Our sense is that if we direct our efforts towards Marlin tactics, these statistics can only improve, and we anticipate the fishery becoming a significant Bluewater destination for all pelagics over the coming seasons.

There are several notable but largely unexplored deep water canyons over 1000ft that are likely to hold good concentrations of large marlin – because Marlin hunt the line between deep water and the coastal plain. The nearest of this significant structure is about a 2 hour run from the marina – and so really requires a dedicated run to fish that area and away from the rest of the fleet.

To develop a better understanding, there needs to be some exploratory fishing – but the opportunity exists to be among the first to “discover” a new Marlin fishery, with the worst case outcome being to switch tactics and catch Sailfish either on conventional or fly until your arms fall off !

We have the boats, crews, equipment and gear – we just need some anglers with a pioneering spirit and a sense of adventure to accompany us. We will work with you to adjust our tactics to yours to make it a thrilling adventure for all of us !

Yes, you do have to prepare in a good way if you’re going after the walleye. Yet skilled fishermen find the walleye especially tricky. They don’t take this fish lightly and neither should you. Through the correct tricks, you can even arrive home along with your very own walleye prize. Here are some techniques you can use when fishing for walleye:
Recognize the walleye’s feeding habits.
Walleye don’t constantly slash at a bait in the identical way as pike. Now and again, you ought to be expecting a small strike. This happens once the walleye approaches the bait/prey, opens up its gills therefore ‘inhaling’ the prey. As long as the procedure is continuous, you get a bite.
Sharpen up the combination of your bait and line.
Presentation is a lot of things whilst fishing for the walleye. The trick is to permit little resistance in your line and lure. A light line will allow the lure to drift into the fish’s mouth uninterrupted.
Apply a thin, monofilament line to prevent drag; a 2-lb. test line to a 4-lb. test line will do best. On occasion, a 6-lb. test line will too work. You might additionally like to employ a rod made with material such as graphite, which is finely tuned enough to sense a gentle strike.
Attract the fish.
Equally live and man-made bait will work on the walleye, provided you know ways to employ them. For live bait, draw on those that the walleye often feed on, such as minnows, earthworms, leeches and little crayfish.
When using a boat, drift slowly along with the river current. Using lead heads in light, fluorescent shades tipped with an extra winnow or leech will be fascinating to the walleye.
Make use of speed trolling in larger bodies of water.
In lakes and reservoirs, speed trolling is a normally used method. Keep up a pace of around 3mph (max. 5 mph) in water 10 ft. deep. Drop the lure and let it to drag along the bottom. Give some slack to get around line breakage in case a walleye strikes.
Shoreline wading can too be a excellent fishing practice to use with walleye, particularly in the summer. Locate the fish to begin with and then lob in a natural bait-tipped lead head.
Apply a yoyo system.
The yoyo system is additionally known as the lift-and-drop. This is too an outstanding technique to exercise for catching. Don’t drag the lure like you would a dead animal. Elevate it around a foot or so, pause and after that drop it to sink naturally to the floor of the lake or river. Fluctuate your intervals to cause the lure appear more alluring. Retrieve bit by bit.

When you are planning to catch that Largemouth Bass you always dreamed of, there is an
important part of your fishing experience that is very necessary. The decision on the
Rod and Reel you choose can make the difference between landing that Extreme Largemouth
Bass or going home with the minnows you brought for bait. Choosing the perfect Rod and
Reel is difficult for even the experienced angler, so you can imaging the confusion that
the beginner bass fisherman faces.
There are two basic concepts that are important to understand about rods. These are: POWER
and ACTION.

ROD ACTION
Rod Action refers to the bend in the rod. Rods bend in different parts and can be separated
by three different areas: The last quarter or essentially near the tip. At the last third
to the tip and throughout the whole rod. The bend at the tip area is known as a Fast Action
Rod. The last third to the tip is known as a Moderate Action Rod, and the bend throughout
the rod is known as a Slow Action rod. Knowing the difference between these different
actions is important and will determine which type of fishing experience you will have and
potentially change the way you fish and the experience you have.
FAST ACTION RODS: Bend at the tip: Will affect the cast and throw since the force will be
at the tip and you can usually cast farther and longer . However, since you have more force
at the tip, you can fling your bait right off the hook due to the whipping effect that you
are able to create. Slow and Moderate Action Rods are less yielding and have less tendency
to have a whip effect and won’t throw your bait off the hook as freely, but you don’t get
the distance during your cast as with the Fast Action Rod.
ROD POWER

Rod Power refers to the ability of the rod to handle different lure weights and line sizes.
Rods range from different designations of Ultra-Light all the way through to Heavy. The
lighter the rod, the lighter the weight that a rod can handle. This determines its power.
So, for example, an ultra-light rod may only be able to handle lures weighing 1/32 ounce
to 1/4 ounce. As the rod increases in its designations, the POWER of the rod increases and
will be able to hold more progressive lure weights. Also, the line pound test increases
with the increase of the size of the rod such that an ultra-light rod may only be able to
handle 2-6 pound test and a heavy rod may be able to handle up to 15-20 pound test line.

Different places and areas for fishing will determine what type of Rod you may choose based
on the types of lakes and grasses you will be faced with. The All Around Choice varies
with the fisherman and the experience depending on the location, temperature and seasonal
changes in the environment.

In my opinion, the best choice for the beginner Largemouth Bass fisherman is a medium-light
power, fast action rod for use with a spinning reel. This type of rod gives the beginner
the ability to feel the casting action and have the power to bring in a decent sized
Largemouth Bass. The cast is not only easy, but you can feel the differences by testing
different casting techniques which will further help you get to know the way in which the
rod gives and takes with each different cast technique until you master both the Power and
Action of your particular rod. If you are going after larger bass in the over 10 pound
range, then it may be more prudent to use a medium power rod as you can control the rod
better and land the larger fish with less chance of loosing it or having it spit out the
lure . Remember the larger the rod, the heavier both the lure and weight you can use but
you loose a little in the cast.

There are many different Rods to choose from and depending upon the type of fishing you
plan to do will determine which type of rod you choose. Planning properly by getting
familiar with the differences between the Action and the Power of different rods will
enable you to go out and fish on different days with different climates, wind conditions
and terrains successfully. They make different Rods and Reels for a purpose, learn which
ones will work better under different conditions and you will land that Extreme Largemouth
Bass of your dreams.

The most popular time for fishing in Guatemala is the dry season – or approximately November through May. Guatemala has a well deserved reputation for calm seas that make the commuting to the action painless and easy

January through March is when things really go crazy – the fish are usually stacked in and close to shore – so the fishing day is long and hard on angler and equipment alike. April until the end of June is when we tend to see most repeat clients who enjoy a little more laid back approach to their fishing, and while there is still a good buzz about the place, with plenty of fishing action – it is not as frenetic as the prior quarter. This past season followed this rough profile, but what is ordinarily a fairly predictable pace was thrown awry by changes outside of our control.

The first chgallenge was the onset of tough financial markets in the US and Europe that certainly effected discretionary income. It is only for the very afflicted that going to the Sailfish Capital of the World is not discretionary, it is mandatory ! This lack of visibility caused us to defer some of our planned spending until later or closer to the main season – when we knew we would have to execute things in parallel to ensure smooth operations, but at least we were confident then of the numbers of anglers that would be coming to chase billfish. Guaranteed to be a bit of a panic, but we have done it before !

It didn’t take long for a cosnistent bite to settle in – and by November we were confident of another strong season – we were catching consistent numbers of good size Blue marlin, and the Sailfish seemed to be concentrating around warm water and pods of baitfish – making for strong and consistent action, although the passage of the odd cold front did push the fish out on a few occasions. The panic came though as word spread and more anglers were asking to come down on short notice to take advantage of the great early season we had been reporting – and our boats still needed some routine maintenance that had to be sandwiched between groups and into what were supposed to be laydays. But when the fishing is hot, we have to go out fishing – it’s just the way it is……………… …………and the bite remained strong until Christmas.

These pesky cold fronts – unusual to see so many of them in the calm and warm waters of Guatemala so late in the year – continued to rush through unpredictably, making the fishing unpredictable in their wake. We continued to hope for our more usual stable weather patterns as we moved into our “3rd quarter” and the New Year. By the second week of January, our hopes and expectations for a record season were bubbling just below the surface (literally !). The weather had become more stable, and we were seeing early season fishing and numbers of sailfish that we had not seen in years ! There was a week mid January when we were fishing every day and bringing back to the dock exhausted anglers – having raised 40+ fish most days, and some days way in excess of that ! Those are the kinds of numbers that we do see reasonably regularly – but typically later in the season, from end of January until mid-March…………….could that possibly mean things could get even better ??

By the time February rolled around, we were really feeling pretty good – not only had the fishing stayed great, it seemed like the mood back in the North had improved so that guys were feeling better about getting that discretionary income out and committing to trips – we had noticed a strong increase in bookings since Christmas – and this really accelerated now as news of the great bite spread far and wide. This coupled with the relatively poor reports out of Costa Rica saw a lot of new anglers coming to Guatemala for the first time chasing our reputation for quantity and quality of fishing. As we moved towards March, we reported that it may be Saint Patrick’s Day – but we are pleased to report that the water in Guatemala is not green! We had been reporting how a stream of weather fronts had pushed green water close into shore, which in turn had been causing us some difficulties in finding consistent concentrations of bait and the predators that feed on them. But as we moved out of February the weather had been kind to us, and we started seeing consistent warm days and calm seas that allowed the blue water to push in and drive that nasty colder green water to one side.If you take a look at the geography of the region, it is easy to see how the currents coming down from Mexico collide with the coastline and reflect back to form huge eddies that attract and hold large quantities of bait. These fast moving currents coinciding with the moon phase mean that water conditions – in particular the location of blue water – can change dramatically in as little as 48 hrs…..so even on the tough(er) fishing days, there is always hope and belief that tomorrow will bring one of the famous 50+ fish/day days !

March provided us with plenty of clear skies, warm days and lots of fish – without too much of a trek from the dock. Most days we were finding clean blue water at about 30 miles from home, and we could fish a line that ran pretty much straight for 15 miles – with billfish wallowing each side of it targeting prey. The sailfish numbers had been strong all through March – but so had the marlin bite.

We had been seeing marlin consistently throughout the season from November until now – and they seemed to be becoming more numerous (or perhaps just more aggressive for smaller baits) as we progressed towards April – which many regard as the classical Blue Marlin season. As we made the turn into our “4th quarter” the late season anglers came to enjoy a great and varied fishing adventure. Although the fishing moved out to as much as 50 miles from shore for most of the month, we were blessed with some marvelous dorado fishing. They showed up in huge numbers – frequently “escorted” by hungry Blue and Black Marlin, who regarded them as such a tasty morsel that the “peanuts” would be a tantalizing appetizer – with the more mature fish being the main course……..and they and we found plenty of both. We saw some of the largest bull and cow dolphin we have ever seen (and caught) in Guatemala during this past April – I think the best fish we brought to the dock was well in excess of 40lbs…….which is a big dorado ‘especially when it hasn’t learned etiquette and insists on flapping around the big cockpit of the Bertram when guys are still fishing !

The summary then is a season that started with quite a bang – an early bite in January that gave us hope for a record season with many days in excess of 50 billfish raised. Unfortunately Mother Nature intervened, and showed us some unusual weather by the end of January that scattered the baitifish and pushed the warm blue water back and forth making it hard for things to coalesce. April was marked by some fantastic marlin fishing – no granders reported this year, but many in the 600lb class. This coupled with some outstanding dolphin catches made the early and late parts of the season the most productive this year.

We know that things are still tough, but we do hope you will be able to come down and get away from it all next season – it’s amazing what catching big fish on light tackle can do to your perspective ! There is certainly more confidence around this year than the same period 12 months ago – we are booking strongly into the “peak” periods and favorite moons already, so if you have specific dates in mind, please get in touch with us as soon as you can. We look forward to welcoming you to Guatemala, the Sailfish Capital of the World (undisputed !)

As you become an avid fisherman and even in the early stages, there is one type of
fishing that is sometimes even more rewarding than catching the large mouth bass itself.
By this I mean “fishing ” for the ever elusive antique bass lure. This is an art among
itself.

If you ever wanted to be a treasure hunter and a fisherman, looking and searching for
antique lures can be a most rewarding experience. Lures have been used for many, many
years and the availability of antique lures is becoming scarcer and harder to find.
Fishing as a hobby is one that is enjoyed by various people, searching and collecting
antique fishing lures can be enjoyed by both the fisherman and his family, son or daughter.

New fishing lures are developed to be the state of the art and “new” technology,
one must keep in mind that in days of old, there were only the lures of the day,
and believe it or not, Large mouth Bass were caught even then without all of the new
gadgetry.

The new era fishing lures are designed and developed to be sleek and take on a live
bait appearance, the antique lures have a different look and feel all together. Even
the materials that they are made out of are different in many aspects. While the new

lures have a polymer design, many of the antique lures were made in a time before all
of these new composite materials were even developed, therefore many are made of wood.

Over time, the wood will wear and the bright colors will fade and the enthusiast
collector of antique lures will surely have a great find to come across a lure in
perfect condition having never been deployed and still with the original wrappings.

Finding and buying on antique lure is challenging at best, nonetheless, that is the
excitement of the hunt when you can locate an antique lure in places unexpected.
There are many places to search for these antique lures, and once you become good at
searching you will be the great fisherman in both bass fishing and catching the elusive
antique lure.

Some of the best places to search in an easy way, is on line in auctions. Besides the
standard auctions that we are most aware of on the Internet, there are local auction
houses in your neighborhood that may have the occasional fishing tackle up for grabs.
Don’t be surprised if there are others in the water looking for the same treasure
as you, so be prepared to go up against the best of fisherman who have been at this
for years.

Antique fishing lures tell a story and many collectors have had their lures passed
down in the family for generations and were there to see and tell the story of their
grandfather using a particular lure to catch the “big one” when they were just a child.

There is a personal attachment to these lures and if you have someone you know that may
be a little older and was at one time an avid fisherman, you may just want to ask them
if they still have their old equipment, you just might be surprised if you listen to
the old fishing stories, that you may be rewarded for your attentive listening ear and
valuable time by giving an “old timer” a chance to reminisce about the “good ol’ days,
and find yourself walking away with a relic to call your own.

Walleye fisherman and those hunting for their Canadian cousin Pickerel are among the most inquisitive, determined and downright curious of fisherman.

Walleye fish are sure a temperamental species. At a moments notice they may lunge for the bait or lure, yet for the remainder of the week or fishing trip with your buddies they may be downright impossible to land. It is almost as they are evading those ever persistent sportsmen – those fisherman and anglers who are patiently waiting out on the water on the shorelines waiting to “get them”

First things first. Make a lot of noise and the Walleye will be scared away. Simple as that , if you want to catch lots of fish to pan fry those Pickerel and Walleye. . Run deep. Run silent. It’s never a good idea to have party on board your fishing boat with heavy metal blaring from boom boxes. It is generally held in the sport that if fishing in water where the Walleyes are in ten feet or less water depth , that it pays off , in turns of landing those big Pickeral monsters , to anchor your craft a and then simply cast to these loved ones. If you are trolling for Walleye take the time ,care and extra effort to use a whisper quiet electric trolling motor , powered by batteries. Take the well found advice and experience and trusted experiences of expert ice fisherman who know full well to avoid drilling or chopping holes in the ice during peak fishing periods for Walleye. Ice fishing aficionados know full well that the sound of an auger or chisel will most certainly drive fish off and away from their known and unknown feeding reefs and haunts.

What of smell and odor? While it is true that laboratory tests have shown that fish can detect extremely dilute odors, in this case the sense of smell does not seem to have much influence towards walleye and pickerel fishing behaviors. Is smell and the sense of odor important when it comes to Walleye strikes, most likely not since live bait does not play well in murky waters when fishing for Walleye. However the experience of seasoned walleye fisherman has been that in murky waters that overall live bait does not work as well as artificial lures, when if smell and odor played an important role and roles in fishing strikes then this would be the exact opposite. In murky waters you would expect that, of the sense of smell was of consequence to walleye hits then fishing with live baits would be much more productive than fishing with odor neutral and sterile lures. Working with angling professionals , and with the advice of Icelandic Gimli fisherman , the following conclusion has been drawn :the fish’s sense of smell and odor is overdrawn by its sense of lateral movements and motions. The evidence is that in these conditions and situations that artificial lures, especially lures that produce vibrations are what catch those big fish.

The evidence of the most successful Walleye and Pickerel fisherman is that first of there what not to do – avoid noise and the production of loud sounds. If you want Manitoba master angler awards , then follow these steps , procedures and experienced advice. Sense of smell and odor detection is not what will get fisherman Manitoba master angler awards. It is the lateral line sense of these fish that is the most important of all. Use shiny lures with lots of wriggling motion, vibrations and motions.

If you want to catch record breaking Walleye be innovative and experiment with lures which produce lots of movement and motions.

It is very important to understand a few simple pointers when you go to purchase your crappie minnow bait fish at your local bait shop or at any bait shop. Many times we do not have time to catch our own bait fish for our fishing trips so we go to our local bait shop to purchase some. In most case this works out just fine. Unfortunately there are so many bait fish that make great live fishing bait presentations that you cannot purchase in at at bait dealer, but for the basic bait fish types or worms bait shops work fine. One thing you may not know, bait shops do not adhere to any set standards on naming the bait fish they sell many times they list their baits as they are called by the local fisherman in the area. For example they may be selling rosy red minnows but they advertise them as tuffies which in truth they are not. Rosy red minnows are actually a type of commercially raised fathead minnow used for crappie fishing that is sold throughout the United States and Canada to bait dealers. My point here is you need to be able to identify what type of bait fish you are wishing to purchase. It does make a difference depending on what type of gamefish you are targeting. You also need to inspect the bait fish the bait shops have in their bait tanks to make sure they are healthy. Here’s a few tips to help with your inspection:Number – 1Look in the dealers bait tank to see if the bait fish are swimming in tight formation at the bottom of the tank. This is a clear sign of healthy bait fish.Number – 2Have the dealer pull a few bait fish up with a bait net so you can inspect them. If any of these fish have a red noses or missing scales, or have white fungus on their bodies, DO NOT BUY these fish are are sick and they probably have infected or weakened the rest of the bait fish in the tank. These fish will be dead before you can ever use them on the water. Go to another bait shop if you can.Number – 3If any of the fish pulled out to inspect are discolored or darker then the others do not buy these fish are probably sick also and have probably infected the other fish in the tank. Don’t get the the dis colored fish confused with breeding males. Breeding males will be darker then the other fish but will have tubercles on the top of their head. These fish are healthy but really not a preferred bait either over the lighter females.Number – 4As mentioned in tip number 3 breeding males do not work as well as live bait as do the lighter females so if you could have the bait dealer separate the dark males from the lighter females and purchase only the lighter females you will have better fishing luck. You also need to keep your bait fish lively while you are transporting them and also while you are fishing heres a few tips to keep them lively: Number – 1We suggest you purchase at minimum a battery powered aerator they work on the same principle as aerators that you see on in door tropical fish tanks. You can purchase them at any department store that sells fishing supplies or you can purchase them on line at bass pro shop or cabala’s. As soon as you transfer the bait fish you have purchased install the aerator and turn it on. you will be surprised how many fish you can loose if you don’t do this little simple step.Number – 2Normally bait shops keep their water temperature in their tanks much cooler then the outside temperature. To make sure the water temperature in your bait bucket does not go up rapidly, drop a few ice cubes in every few minutes. this will keep the water cool for the duration of your fishing trip and save you some money.Well folks that concludes our article about a bait fish We sincerely hope you use our fishing information on your next fishing trip Good Luck!
