Cutting Inlays in Stone or Concrete

When was the last time you actually volunteered to set an inlay in a perfectly good countertop? I would venture to say that it was some crafty designer or bored housewife that pulled some strings to get you to say yes to the job. Cutting joints and inlays into stone, concrete slabs or countertops can be very time consuming, with one bad cut you can waste a lot of time on repairs or even be forced to remake the whole piece. Setting a precise layout line for your cut and preparing the surface can take more time that the actual cutting, especially if you are using a wet saw. If your surface is porous it will absorb any dyes you use to mark the line. Tape can leave glue stuck to the surface and you’re in the cleanup business.
Pharoah manufactures waterproof guides that you cut to fit your saw or router. Unlike a Rail Saw or Track Saw these guides are made to work with your equipment. The guides are made of ridged ¼” thick plastic, allowing you to get very deep penetration out of your saw or router.
Once you’ve cut the guide it is a very precise layout line for your saw blade or router bit. Your saw rides on top of the guide. There is no need mark up the slab for a layout line. Wherever you lay the guide, you see exactly where your blade will cut. Your saw never touches the work surface so there’s no surface scratching and the guide actually helps prevent any surface lifting by trapping the cut under the guide.
Low profile spring clamps or screw clamps can be used to hold the guides in place. Pharoah guides can be washed up with soap and water after the job is done. The only maintenance you’ll need to provide is protecting them from your buddy’s who’ll want to test them out.
I was told once that these types of guides were used in the movie industry back in the 1930’s to make cuts on the back drops of large stage sets. They were called “Scooter Boards” because they would scoot them down their cut line. With all the money you save from buying and tuning up a Track Saw you might be able to get yourself a couple of guy’s to hold your guide for you, who needs clamps?

If you are looking for a fabulous Disney vacation, booking a holiday villa in Orlando would seem to be the first step to take. One of the most important aspects of a vacation after choosing the destination is your choice of accommodation, and there are generally two types of people with little in between.

Either you like to rough it, in which case you will go for a tent, trailer or log cabin, or you like luxury in which case you will normally opt for a hotel. Of those that like to rough it, most will eventually admit that it is the price that attracts them, and that if they could afford something better they would go for it. Sure, there are those that genuinely prefer a tent, and there’s a lot to be said for a camping holiday. However, if that’s not you, then nothing is going to persuade you other than cost.

Of those that prefer the hotel room, most when pressed for an answer why will say that there are no alternatives. A hotel is the only way to rest comfortably when on vacation in Orlando, and they have enough hassle during the rest of the year to want any on their Disney vacation. They want some luxury: a comfortable bed, a pool and spa and just to be able to chill out.

Of these two extremes, neither will likely have given any consideration to a holiday villa in Orlando. There is a wide range of Orlando vacation villas, from condos to six bedroom villas set in luxury resorts where every form of entertainment is laid on for them. However, if you mention that to them they will prevaricate and mention the price. “It must be dreadfully expensive” they will say, as if that were an excuse. How much are these hotel rooms costing them? Particularly if they have a large family with them, which many have. The happy campers can be forgiven believing that, but it’s not much of an excuse for the hotel lovers.

Actually they are wrong. Let’s take the hotel lovers first. Ignore what they are paying for their hotel, but look at their family. Let’s say they are a couple with four children. What would that involve accommodation-wise? Three rooms? Certainly more than two, and three at a minimum. Perhaps even four if the kids are of a certain age, but let’s give them the benefit of the doubt and settle for three.

Now let’s look at the price of a three bedroom holiday villa in Orlando. In fact let’s look first at a 3 bedroom town house in Windsor Palms resort: that is $135 a night – for the whole family of six people. That’s high season in mid-summer for under $44 a room. What kind of hotel will offer you rooms at that price? I don’t know, but I sure don’t want to spend a night there! That’s fabulous luxury accommodation with a pool, high speed internet and everything the resort has to offer for a measly 44 bucks a room.

If they wanted to up that to a 4 bedroom holiday villa in Orlando it would be $180: $45 a night per room to include a Playstation, games room with pool and air hockey, private pool and lots more beside. Even at that they are getting more than their hotel could offer. What if they were hungry at night? Room service prices? No, rustle yourself up a burger or a sandwich in your own kitchen. Bye-bye hotel – you suddenly just got outvoted on price, luxury and privacy.

Now, how about the Disney vacation being enjoyed by the happy campers – those that prefer to live under canvas? Nothing wrong with a tent or trailer, but they are only doing this because they can’t afford better – they said so. However, they can afford a luxury holiday villa in Orlando, especially if they go for a condo at $125 a night for three bedrooms. Six people at less than $21 each. There’s no arguing with value like that.

Keep in mind that we are talking only 2 miles from Disney here! Plus shuttle transport to all the attractions. Not only that, but this is in the Windsor Hills Resort with its fitness room, volleyball, tennis, basketball, movie cinema and games arcade. Plus a pool, hot tub . . .

There is too much to mention. With your own laundry and cooking facilities you are going to save money here, and that means you have more to spend on enjoying yourself. There is no reason at all why anybody, whether they are in a tent or a hotel room, should not be able to afford a luxury holiday villa in Orlando and not only save money, but also have the best and most fabulous Disney vacation that they have ever had

Winter Park, Colorado is by far the coolest place to visit for a winter vacation! The term “coolest” covers many meanings for this town as it neighbors Fraser, Colorado, otherwise known as the “ice box of the nation”. Winter is also a serious season for the destination as the cool winter temperatures guarantee a winter wonderland from December through most of April.

Nestled along the Continental Divide and surrounded by the Arapahoe National Forest, Winter Park Ski Resort averages over 370 inches of snow a year. This makes for some mighty great powder days and a sure bet for quality skiing. The Ski resort features three mountains all on one ticket; The Mary Jane, Winter Park and The Vasquez. Terrain varies in an equitable ratio of beginner to intermediate to expert and advanced runs. Ski and Skiing Magazine has even rated the Winter Park terrain parks and half pipe as some of the best in North America! There is truly something for everyone and enough to keep even the most avid skier or rider busy for weeks.

Although skiing and snowboarding are the main activities in Winter Park for winter vacationing, there are many other things to do as well. A family favorite is snowmobiling in Winter Park along the Continental Divide on a guided ride. Imagine racing along the winter swells and snow drifts high above tree line with miles of blue sky stretching above you. Snowmobiling suits those that are looking for the adrenaline rush and adventure experience.

For those that want something more laid back and comforting, enjoy the hot springs near Winter Park. Soak in the therapeutic waters at the Hot Sulphur Springs Resort located just down the road from Winter Park. The Native American tribes of the western part of Colorado claimed the waters were medicinal and sought out the location well into the late 1800´s. Located only 90 miles from Denver International Airport, the town is the closest of the major ski resorts. The town is small and easy to get around with free parking everywhere except right at the base. A free local town shuttle system will also transport skiers throughout the valley to the ski area and back. Shopkeepers, vendors and locals are friendly and care about the experiences and perceptions of the area. Ask any local for a favorite place to go or something to do and the answers won´t disappoint.

While in Winter Park, the Beaver Village Condominiums offer the ideal Winter Park lodging and the best value in condominium nightly rental accommodations.
