The ship, built in Mexico in a combination of ancient styles, is carrying a child of Mayan origin from the Cozumel Real Estate area – Antonio Angulo, 12, who has the role of delivering the message of peace to children and the population in general along the ship’s journey.

On arrival to New York , the ship received an emotional welcome ceremony. Antonio, who travels with his father Carlos, presented the Peace Flag to Mathew, a child living in New York, and to two of this companions. Meanwhile Mathew, made an effort to respond to Antonio in Spanish, expressing his appreciation for the delivery of the Peace Flag and added that now he will make it available, along with the message, to all people who he has contact with.

The event was attended by Ida Perich, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Michael Bloomberg, representing the Mayor of New York, Ismael Macias Navejar, the Mexican consul, Manuel Diaz Rubio, the owner of the “Zamna,” representatives of Tourism Board and Marrufo Alberto Gonzalez, director of tourism in the municipality of Cozumel.
