In 2011 there will be over 200 new cars launched costing from £8,500 for the Hyundai i10 with a facelift to a massive £1.2 million for the Aston Martin One-77. The one car that will out beat all others is the new model Focus and will not be matched with any other car in the UK for value for money and quality. As fuel prices rise at extortionate rates, the new Focus will produce top quality cars with the emphasis on fuel economy. This is excellent news for families looking to purchase a new car this year giving more choice and value for money. This also means that car parts will be less costly for you.

Other new smaller cars for 2011 include the Aston Martin Cygnet. This comes at a cost of £30,000 and is to be released in the autumn, unfortunately, you have to already own an Aston supercar to purchase one of these. In the summer of 2011 the Chevrolet Aveo will be available to buy at an economical starting price of £10,000 and is a very stylish car. In March the Honda Jazz hybrid makes an entrance at a cost of £16,000. The Vauxhall Corsa goes on sale this month and will start at £9,995. It has been a favourite for the last 3 years in Scotland and will come with the Astra interior and grille.

The i10 will also be released this month and is a very practical car with prices starting from £11,595 and replaces the Matrix. Kia’s new Picanto will be launched this summer. At starting prices of £11,000 spring sees the arrival of the new Nissan Micra giving out fewer emissions than all other petrol cars at 95g/km. The government will give a grant of £18,500 for electric cars bringing down the price of the Nissan Leaf electric car to £23,500, however, as this plug-in car is so affordable it does not come without its problems. After driving 100 miles, this car will need charging and there are limited places to do this but if you want to be eco-friendly then this may be the car for you in 2011.

If it’s a family size car you are looking for with all the style then the new Mondeo is still top ranking and the new Peugeot 508 is a close follower starting at £18,500 and is available from April. Kia announces their new arrivals in spring with their Hyundai i40 and in the summer the Kia Optima at the starting prices of £16,000 and £18,000.

The most eco-friendly executive car new on the market this month is the stunning Audi A7 Sportback giving you 139g/km and 53mpg from £43,775. In the spring, Audi also announce their new A6 with prices from £27,500 and guarantees optimum style. If it’s a more expensive car you are looking to buy then the new Mercedes CLS is available in March from £46,500 and the Mercedes CL comes out this month from £89,425. Both are ultra-sleek cars that ooze charm and class with more technology than you can ever imagine. Spares and car parts for these types of car do not come without a high price tag so why not visit findapart.com for all your car parts and pay a fraction of the price with new or used cheaper car parts.

Range Rover introduce the new 4 x 4 Evoque in August and will be available to buy at £35,000 and will be the most economical efficient to date. It is a clever little car that’s light in weight and attractive on the eye with the option of three or five doors.
January gives birth to BMW’s new X3 to buy from £30,490 and although not dissimilar to the X5 is smaller but gives you 50mpg. Towards the end of this year we will see the launch of Audi’s Q3 and it is anticipated that the cost will be around £23,000.

Minis make two new appearances this summer with the coupe and the roadster at the cost starting from £18,000 and impressive good looks will not fail to be an ever popular car. For £1,000 less the impressive looks of Hyundai’s answer to the VW Scirocco comes the Velostar coupé and makes its entry in October.

Aston Martin have only around 10 of the 77 One-77’s available that they are building and can be bought for £1.2 million in March but if you can’t wait till then, the Bentley Continental GT hits the showrooms this month costing £135,760.

There are many considerations to make when preparing your youngster for motorcycle riding on the track or off. They include rider safety equipment, bike size and rider training. This article will discuss rider safety equipment.

The first consideration when preparing your youngster for motorcycle riding is the purchase of safety equipment. Whether they will be practicing, trail riding or racing, safety equipment is incredibly important. Many events can take place during all types of riding, so safety equipment should always be worn.

Keep in mind that riders do fall down and they do collide during racing, and they do it while traveling rather fast. Wearing proper safety equipment can minimize the effects of contact with other riders, obstacles and the ground.

Rider Safety Equipment

Starting at the top is head protection, and this is by far the most important to a motorcycle rider, whether they are on a dirt track or an asphalt roadway. All motorcyclists need to protect their head, and helmets are able to do this effectively.

Next comes eye protection; it is hard to navigate a motorcycle safely if you cannot see where you are going. Obstacles that can interfere while riding are sun, dirt, flying debris, bugs and low lying branches. This makes eye protection important to the safety of the rider. Don’t substitute other types of glasses, like sunglasses, for eye protection gear designed for motorcycle riders.

Now most street motorcycle riders don’t wear neck protection, but it can be very important for track racers. With the hills and jumps engaged during racing, there is a chance of rider whiplash and so neck protection should be worn. Some helmet designs will provide some neck protection, but a neck collar that provides specific neck protection is best under all conditions.

The back and chest are very vulnerable areas and prone to injury, especially if the rider is not equipped with proper upper body protection. Whether it is the handle bars of their own motorcycle or a tree branch on the trail, chest and back protection can minimize accidental injuries to those areas.

Two areas that always seem to get banged up on the rider are the knees and elbows. On the trail it can be from bushes and trees, extending into trails and onto the track or it can be the result of contact with other riders. High impact plastics used in today’s protectors will help preserve the rider’s knees and elbows from injury.

Outfitting your rider with hand protection can help them to grip the controls of their bike better and reduce injury to the fingers and knuckles also.

A good pair of riding boots will be important for comfortable operation of the motorcycle, but will also help to protect the shins, ankles, and feet from injury. Make sure that the boots always fit properly and are in good condition as well.

As much of a temptation that it might be to go the cheap route when it comes to safety equipment, it is advised not skimp on safety equipment. This doesn’t mean you can’t get a good deal on some used gear, just make sure it is in excellent shape and fits your rider properly. Damaged gear or equipment that doesn’t fit properly should be avoided.

To be competent in any endeavor requires the development of specific skills, and motorcycle riding is no different. Of course, a lot of the skills needed for competent motorcycle riding can simply be obtained through conscientious practice. However, the skills needed to become proficient in motorcycle racing may require professional help. There are a number of areas that a motorcycle rider should develop skill whether they are doing it on their own or with a trainer.

Crucial motorcycle skills include: riding skill, racing skill, physical conditioning and bike maintenance.

Riding Skills

The riding skills necessary for a motorcyclist will vary depending on what they plan on doing with them. If they intend on racing, then they will need a completely different set of skills than the dirt bike trail rider. Both riders will have to be exposed to various situations, and through practice, develop the skill to safely navigate the bike.

Depending on what discipline the motorcyclist plans to ride, both will require learning and developing the ability to handle the bike. This means being able to handle the bike under many different conditions, because the bike will be operated in the rain, fog and other kinds of weather changes. The rider will have to be able to adapt to the changing weather conditions and still handle the bike skillfully.

A dirt bike rider will have to learn how to handle the bike on hills, going both up and down them. They will have to also learn how to control the bike on loose gravel and through mud. There are many different kinds of terrain the dirt bike rider might find themselves, and they must be able to handle the bike safely on all of them.

Motorcycle Maintenance

Whether a rider owns a basic motorcycle model, or a sophisticated and expensive motocross model, it is necessary they take personal responsibility for the care of the bike. Sure some care is going to be beyond their reach, but not all.

The best way for them to develop the skill to take care and maintain their bike is to learn from someone that already knows how. This is the method a lot of riders used to learn how to care for their motorcycles, but if this is not possible then there are books which can effectively help.

Racing Skills

The only way to get race experience is to watch, participate and examine motorcycle races. The rider’s performance will increase proportionately with their race exposure and experience. These can be mock races used for training purposes or video taped races. When the rider is then experienced enough to know what is going on, they can enter some real motorcycle races.

Motorcycle racing is a complex process and a rider that intends on becoming a motocross or super-motocross racer, should work directly with a trainer. This is the course of least resistance and the most cost effective as well.

Physical Conditioning

For both the dirt bike and motocross racer, the regime of riding can be hard on the body. The rider must be in great physical condition to endure and win. Whether it is the length of races, the heat or jumps and bumps, the rider must train to endure the process.

Dirt bike riding and motocross racing is a rugged sport and requires riders to have a decent physical fitness level. This means riders need to engage in a routine that includes strength training, endurance training and flexibility training. All of these disciplines are necessary for good riding and racing skills.

Learning to ride a dirt bike is fairly easy, but there are a lot of skills required to master it. Check out GIO Bikes for low priced dirt bikes, ATVs.

Riding a dirt bike can be a lot of fun and bring many hours of enjoyment. Makes no difference if you are on a dirt track or out on the trails, injury is always a risk. But taking a few steps before taking to the trails or track can minimize the chance of injury when riding a dirt bike.

Learn to ride properly: If you have little or no dirt bike riding experience, you may want to consider taking a safety course. Good safety courses can teach you how to ride and will help minimize the chances of being hurt, while riding your dirt bike. These courses are taught by experienced riders, so you can gain a lot of knowledge, very quickly. They will give you pointers that can keep you safe in situations in which you are not experienced.

Always wear safety gear: With design and technology advancements, the riding gear of today is better then it has ever been. It is lightweight, durable and made of bulletproof materials to withstand many kinds of impact. No piece of safety equipment is more important then your helmet. The head and brain are very vulnerable in a crash and having the proper protection can mean the difference between walking away, and being taken away in an ambulance.

Maintain your dirt bike: While you are riding your dirt bike, it is an important to remember it is a piece of machinery. It is essential that all of its parts are in good working order. This is only possible if you take care of it on a regular basis. Checking fluids, tires, and shocks for general wear and tear can save you a lot of problems while riding. Cleaning your bike completely after each riding session will help to extend the longevity of the bike also.

Know your limitations: It is very easy to get carried away by adrenaline and power when riding your dirt bike. This is a good time to be reminded of your riding experience and limitations. If you have not trained for a particular maneuver, you probably shouldn’t be attempting it. Attempting new stunts without proper training is a primary cause of many riding injuries. Practicing a stunt under controlled conditions, before going live, is always the best course of action.

Ride with a buddy: Sometimes riding with a buddy that has more experience than you do is a great way to avoid injury. A more experienced rider may be able to give you some good advice about riding situations. If you are going to attempt a particular maneuver, you can pass it by your buddy and see what they think. Their advice could be very valuable in keeping you safe and injury free.

Stick to marked trails: When riding in the woods it is best to stick to known trails, unless new trails are clearly mapped. If a rider in your group has experience on the new trails, you should let them brief you before setting out. A good course of action is to let them lead the group through the trails as the point rider. A lot of injuries are caused by rider error, because they were unaware of a trail condition change, and were not able to adjust or react to the change. It is best to let the experienced rider lead the way for everyone.

With the onslaught of imported Chinese Scooters over the past few years, many of us are finding we need repair parts. For some, we can find a local Scooter shop, but for others, it seems near impossible. Even if we find a local scooter repair shop, some specialize in European Brands and don’t work on Chinese Scooters (aka Mopeds), and if they do, they may not carry the parts we need for our brand.

Here is one of the easiest secrets to learn more about our scooters. Chinese Brand Scooters come to America under many names, and even worse, many of us buy a Scooter, and 2 minutes later, can’t even tell our neighbor the make or model we just bought.

Here is the best way to figure out who is the manufacturer, and that is to find the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), aka the serial number of the Scooter. For most Scooters, it is on the middle shaft of the front of the bike. There is a 1 inch by 5 inch plastic cover. Use a screw driver and pop the plastic off to reveal the VIN. Now look at the first 2 letters. Those letters tell you the name of the manufacturer, followed by other numbers which will tell the model number and the engine size. That is all we need. If you are unable to find your serial numbers, you can lay down on the ground and look up into the scooter from underneath.

Scooters also have the VIN somewhere else on the body frame. This is harder to find, but it is another option. If you go to your local Scooter Shop or search online for parts, tell them your VIN number so they can make sure they are getting you the correct scooter parts; then there will be no mistake as to the correct parts to order.

A third option is to pull out your registration. That will have the VIN number as well. It should also state the Manufacturer and Model. I don’t like mentioning this option up front, as I have seen Registrations from many States, and the DMV makes huge mistakes. I find misspellings of makers and models on over half of the registrations I see. In my State, they have a maker spelled 3 different ways. Hence the VIN is the best way to get the correct parts.

Option number four is to take photos’ of the parts we need. Then we can email them to the supplier to double check we are getting the right parts. Anytime people call us to order parts and seem unsure of their make and model, I always have them send me a picture, and then I can ship them the right parts.

If they do not have a camera, a fifth way is I have them copy and email me a picture of their registration. Now I am clear with the VIN what scooter or moped they have. If you will follow these steps, it helps those of us in the parts business identify the correct parts and saves everyone time, effort and money.

Letting your child begin to ride a motorcycle or ATV is a big step. It’s important you set the right habits from the beginning and that definitely starts with wearing a helmet.

If you are a parent who is getting a motorcycle helmet for your child, you should remember that the goal of wearing a safety helmet is to prevent harm from befalling your child and to protect him from head and neck injuries.

With the proper helmet, an accident will protect their head and the helmet should never crack. After all could you ever handle a head injury to your child? It would be tough so be stern and make sure you get the right type of helmet.

You could start out by knowing what standards are being enforced by the DOT, including those regulations covered by the FMVSS, all geared towards protecting U.S. motorists and motorcycle riders including children.

Knowing that you have a DOT helmet can put you at ease. You know that your helmet is up-to-date on the most important safety standards and developments. And that’s watching over your child’s motorcycle safety.

Access to the Internet has made the search for the right motorcycle helmet extremely easy. You can now find certified… DOT certified… stores. These shops can provide you with the necessary information you need to make the best buying decision… including sizing charts.

In your search engines, just specify that you are looking for children’s motorcycle helmets, and it will lead you to so many online specialty shops which provide detailed descriptions of each model, its specifications and safety measures, as well as the price range and mode of payment.

However, it’s important to remember the basic features of safety you’re looking for in the first place. The best helmet is usually a full face helmet. This is so because they provide your child with full head coverage and a protective shield. The shield will help protect your child from road debris as well as UV rays. These helmets also come equipped with ventilation. That helps the shield from not fogging up and allows your child to better breath fresh air. The full face helmets also protect your child from damaging their hearing by dampening the sound of a loud or large engine. These helmets continue to be the best because of their snugness which prevents from slippage as well.

This padding is very strong when it comes to absorbing shock and that means comfort. When a helmet is comfortable, that usually means that your child will not mind wearing it… which is a big deal. Most DOT children’s helmets are aerodynamically designed with fiberglass materials to keep the dent and shatter resistant.

Never behind in style, children’s motorcycle helmets surge forward with the trendiest and most innovative of designs and graphics. Going through all the different choices should motivate your child enough to get a motorcycle helmet and keep wearing one, not only for his sense of style but more for his own good.

The conditions for riding an ATV or motorcycle on public land may be changing over the next few years. Many states are now requiring riders to obtain permits in order to ride on publicly owned land. The criteria for obtaining a permit is, to pay a fee and if age limits apply, show proof of a rider safety or education course.

There are many benefits for states to implement such programs and these include safer trails, better maintained trails and safer riders on the trails. By improving the overall riding experience for everyone, riding on public land will improve dramatically. Rider training courses will result in fewer problems and less injuries to riders on the trail.

The revenue generated by the permits obtained by riders will produce a much safer environment for families that enjoy taking excursions onto public lands. There will be more educated, experienced riders and park personnel to patrol the trails. This is good for all riders who enjoy trail riding in the wilderness with their ATV or dirt bike.

ATV riders love the great outdoors and public parks have many great trails for their riding. Keeping the trails safe and populated with competent riders is important, that way everyone can have a great experience riding the trails. Now permits are not a cure-all, but at least the norm of riding experience needed will be raised for all riders. This reduces the risk of inexperienced riders injuring themselves or others.

Part of the requirements for obtaining a permit is proper vehicle condition. The ATV or dirt bike that is to be used on public land will have to undergo, and pass an inspection. Many less riders will become stranded due to breakdowns, which will also reduce park expenditures for emergency services, as a result.

Rugged trails are a treat for the experienced rider, but there is a limit to how deteriorated a trail can become before it is impassable. With the money generated from rider permits the park service can maintain trails better. Many parks are building trails with these funds for the expressed use of ATV or dirt bike riders.

There are parks that have already built a series of trails which can span hundreds of miles for those taking short, medium or long riding excursions. Many families like to take riding vacations, and with park trails improving, they are fast becoming popular destinations.

The average age of riders is getting younger and younger, so the more training they can receive early on the better. An ATV or dirt bike is a powerful machine, and competent training early on can help young riders develop good riding habits. Properly trained, young riders can grow up to become mature riders, who enjoy riding safely.

One of the requirements for riding on public land will be the supervision of those riders under 17 years old by an adult rider. This requirement will not only allow the young riders to remain safe out on the trail, but will also create a safer environment for all riders.

Learning to ride dirtbikes is fairly easy, but there are a lot of skills required to master it. Check out GIO Bikes for a low priced ATV for sale.

One of the most popular reasons why people buy an ATV is the simple pleasure of recreational riding. With the number of state parks open to ATV riders, it is easy to have a great time over the weekend while enjoying the great outdoors.

Of course, many riders stick to trails close to home, but they get just as much satisfaction with this type of riding. Because of the popularity of ATV riding, many parks have been set up to cater to families looking for fun and safe environments to ride. They pay a fee at the door and get unlimited use of groomed trails and campgrounds, for the whole family.

An ATV is a real workhorse for those who purchase them to assist with the many different kinds of jobs they can perform. From snow plowing, leveling of roads, to hauling lumber, etc, these vehicles are a real favorite for farmers, builders and ranchers.

With the large number of attachments available, they are able to do just about any kind job imaginable, and are ideal for farms or large acreage spreads. They are incredibly useful when it comes to hauling heavy loads, and models are available with this purpose in mind.

One of the hardest tasks to complete when off in the woods deer hunting is hauling your quarry back to the truck. This is where an ATV can be mighty handy. Instead of dragging the game through the woods and back to the vehicle, it can just be loaded up and driven out.

Gaining access to very difficult hunting ground is a prime advantage when using an ATV also. Instead of having to walk many miles, you can simple ride, and this leaves you much more energetic for the hunt.

Of course you can’t deny that there are ATV riders who are only concerned with the thrill that they can bring. Certain models are especially good for riding on the beach or in the woods. They don’t have the heavy duty transmissions like the hauling type, but are built for speed.

An ATV built today can have a great deal of horsepower, producing invigorating and energizing thrills, whether in the woods or on the dunes. Professional riders have mastered many different types of skills and stunts while driving an ATV.

It was only a matter of time, since the introduction of the ATV to the public that people would begin to race them against each other. Oval tracks with many different kinds of jumps and obstacles, challenge the riding skills of those daring enough to race their vehicle.

Certainly it takes a lot of practice and each rider is required to don a host of safety gear while racing. But, just watching these races can be exhilarating and exciting too. ATV racers also come in many various sizes and ages, and begin riding as young as 4 years old today.

If you have no experience operating an ATV, it is always a good idea that you read and understand the owner’s guide that comes with the vehicle. These are very powerful machines, and they can be a real time saver for those who operate them properly and safely.

As more people discover the versatility of an ATV, they are rapidly growing in popularity. Also check out GIO Bikes for low priced dirt bikes for sale.

Over the last 10 years, individuals, couples and families have learned they can enjoy the great outdoors with their new ATV. Because of this, the recreational use of all terrain vehicles has increased substantially, and continues to do so. This increase in the use of an ATV has opened up many resources for riders previously not available. Many people want the excitement of the wilderness, while many prefer to stay close to home. Whatever the preference, resources now exist to accommodate every ATV rider.

Here are some options that will help you to enjoy the great outdoors with your new ATV:

-State Parks
-Private Land
-ATV Parks
-Vacationing

State Parks

The greatest holders of wilderness land in many areas are state governments, making state parks ideal locations for finding the best ATV trails. These trails are maintained well, and are mapped out for easy access. Many trails are free of charge to use while others require a small fee. Periodic patrols by rangers also make riding state park trails safe for the whole family.

State parks are spending more money then ever before to create and maintain riding trails. State parks offer many opportunities for ATV riders to enjoy the great outdoors.

Private Land

Much of the land that is desirable for trekking on ATV is of course privately owned land. Now this doesn’t mean it is inaccessible for riding; in fact, many private land owners allow ATV riders to use their land for excursions. A lot of pristine private land can be accessed simply by asking for permission. You should always make certain to respect posted land signs and not trespass without permission.

When gaining access to private land for ATV riding, you should leave the wilderness in the same condition as you found it.

ATV Parks

Commercial ATV parks are becoming more and more popular as sources of great riding amenities. The parks feature circular, motocross style and trail riding features to satisfy every kind of ATV rider. ATV parks are generally safer, as the trails, and tracks are maintained better, and more consistently. Campgrounds, showers and restaurants make these parks a one stop attraction for those who don’t want to be too far from the comforts of home.

For a fun and challenging weekend, commercial ATV parks are ideal locations for providing safe and well maintained trails for riders of every skill level.

Vacationing

A great opportunity for bonding and reconnecting with the family is to pack up your camping gear and go on an ATV vacation. It will require a bit of research and preparation, but it will be worth the time and trouble. Just think about it – a family vacation camping in the great outdoors, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life! You won’t even have to hike at all if you don’t want to, you can ride in on your ATV!

A family camping vacation in the wilderness is a great way to recharge and enjoy the great outdoors.

When riding your ATV in the wilderness, it is best to be prepared. Here are some important items you should bring with you on your next ATV adventure:

-First-Aid Kit
-Navigation Tools
-Tire Repair Kit
-Survival Kit
-All Weather Kit

First-Aid Kit

A lot of unexpected events can occur when you are out on the trail, and they include suffering an injury. Whether the injury is minor or life-threatening, it is a good idea to be prepared with an onboard first-aid kit. The kit will equip you to treat most minor injuries incurred by anyone in your riding group. Of course a basic first-aid kit is not equipped to handle most major injuries, but it can help substantially while you wait for rescue assistance.

An onboard first-aid kit can treat a whole host of minor injuries that may be incurred by you, or your group, while out in the wilderness.

Navigation Tools

Anyone who’s done any amount of riding knows how exciting it is to explore a new trail, or area of wilderness. But frankly, putting the excitement aside, it is important for riders to know where they are, and where they are going. There are a lot of tools available today that will keep riders safe while they enjoy the excitement of a new trail. As an example; trail maps, GPS, a compass, or cell-phone are great items to have as navigation tools.

Having several navigation tools as part of your trailblazing gear is an effective way to prevent your riding party from getting lost, or needing rescue assistance.

Tire Repair Kit

When riding out in the wilderness your ATV is a great tool to get you where you want to go. But, if you suffer a flat tire, and have no repair kit, you will be stuck until the tire is fixed. This is where a tire repair kit would come in handy. Depending on the condition of your tires, and the trail, your chances of getting a flat may increase or decrease. Keeping your tires in good condition and having a tire repair kit can help to avoid ruining a perfectly good excursion.

Including a tire repair kit as part of your onboard gear is a great way to avoid getting stranded deep on a wilderness trail.

Survival Kit

If you are out on the wilderness trail even just for the day, it is a good idea to be prepared. One way to ensure your safety is to carry a survival kit on board just in case the unexpected happens. Depending on where you are when you need assistance, it could mean waiting anywhere from a few hours to a day for assistance to reach you. This is where a survival kit can make the wait a lot easier for everyone. A survival kit should include the following items; water, flashlight, snacks, and a multi-tool kit.

Survival kits are the number one precaution that experienced riders carry onboard whether their trip is for a few hours, or a few days.

All Weather Kit

This country has many wonderful areas for trailblazing, and each is unique in its character, and beauty. But, they also have their own unique weather patterns too. Being prepared for a sudden change in weather can mean the difference between an enjoyable, and a very uncomfortable ride. An all weather kit should include; cold weather, wet weather or hot weather riding gear.

Carrying an all weather kit as part of your gear will let you deal effectively with the unique weather patterns of the area you are riding.

When you’re riding your ATV, it is best to be fully prepared. Also check out GIO Bikes for a low priced dirt bike.
