Accepting Challenges as Powerful Growth Tools

How do you view challenges in your life? Or rather how do you view obstacles in your life?

Well, challenges in life are quite good for us because it helps us appreciate value when we’ve gone through an issue or issues.

Note that I use the word issue and not the word problem, mainly because problem indicates to the subconscious mind that this is something that is difficult or cannot be dealt with. On the other hand the word issue automatically focuses your mind to finding your preferred method or options for resolving the issue.

Okay, now we’ve cleared that, let’s move on.

Infact, the way you progress to resolve issues in your life would actually correspond to how you live your life, because your thoughts are creative.

James Allen – who was a well-known writer on the subject of creative thoughts once said “As a Man Thinketh so is he”.

In other words for example, when you worry about an issue, then you are actually perpetuating the problem.

In a few , worry over issues has been known to contribute to various such as panic attacks, stomach ulcers, heat burns, depression and so on.

Worry in itself if left unattended can actually become a habit.

I know some people who worry about every single issue in their lives and all day long they perpetuate this cycle. Even when there was nothing to worry about, I’ve heard someone before say “I am just worried, I think I must be missing something”. This is because they’ve formed the habit over a long term that worry is part of living.

You could have concern over an issue and think of your options on how to deal with it, which means that you are focused on the steps to deal with the issue, rather than going around in circles, which is what worry is about.

Now, instead of shying away from challenges arising from issues in your life, make time to look at all the available options one at a time, including talking to other people who may help or organizations that can help further a solution to the issue. Set a realistic goal, be specific about what you want to achieve, and eventually you’ll get there without worry and confusion.

Worry would generally disappear once you have the knowledge to deal with an issue.

You see the mind is a powerful tool, because as soon as you begin to point your attention and focus on the information and options to further the resolution of those issues, you would immediately notice that you begin to feel better.

Why?

Because you’re clearing confusion and obstacles that you previously did not know how to deal with, until now.

Notice also that as you progress these challenges, your knowledge and experience also grows.

I’ve known people to change careers from discovering new-found interests and desires just from progress on issues in their lives. They discover something new and all of a sudden they are drawn to it like a magnet.

That’s life, and that’s the beauty of life, when you look at the exciting side of challenges and the opportunities it affords you.

James Allen on the subject of “Thought Power” also stated “if you are to alter your thoughts towards things and other people, you’ll find that those things and other people will alter towards you”

So circumstances and events including people will rally to your cause. Again, “you are what you think”.

Reviewing the to you allows you to focus clearly on the ones that are particularly appropriate for your circumstances.

Once you review the options, you can then make informed decisions that leave no cloud of confusion in resolving your challenges.

The key point as mentioned earlier is to make a decision, and don’t let it linger on. It’s important that once you are clear about which way to go, you take action to complete your challenge.

Now, you can see “obstacles” can be dealt with through a co-ordinated approach and you don’t focus on the obstacles, you focus on your goal.

For your true path to happiness and lifestyle, focus on your true inner desires, rather than the obstacles or challenges you’ll face while on the way there.

Tell yourself “I am being challenged and this is good for my growth, experience and development towards my journey to success”.
