Things to Look for in an Affordable Website Design

Affordable websites is a term that´s commonly misused. Going for an affordable website package usually translates into sloppy or hastily put together work. Not being able to afford a full featured web design does not mean you can compromise on quality.

Being on a budget means that have to look for economy or budget packages that are available at various web design companies.

When looking for an affordable , make sure that the following things are kept in mind before making a decision.

Quality over Quantity

Many web designers offer budget website packages in order to get more work. But because the pay is low, they don´t put the required effort in the work.

As the designers you´re considering hiring for examples of work they´ve done in their affordable website package.

Getting a good look at the work they´ve done for their budget websites will give you a clear idea of how much work they put in.

Support

All web designers offer support. The support might not be as efficient if you´ve chosen their affordable website package.

If you´ve been provided with samples of websites made in their economy/affordable web design package, try contacting those websites and ask about the support they received from the designer.

Let them know you´re considering hiring them and if they would recommend the designer in question. Most are very forth coming with their opinions.

Specifications

Before hiring a web or freelancer to design your website, make a comparison of their affordable website package and see which ones offer the most services.

Remember, the package that gives the most services may not be the right one for you. Prioritize what the work you need to get done, see which package is the closest to offering you all of those without any extras.

If the package you´ve decided upon has some extra services that you won´t need, talk to the web designer and find out if eliminating those services would further lower the cost. You´re on a budget after all, don´t be afraid to negotiate.

Which Specifications to Look for

A quick look at some of the affordable website packages will give you an idea of what they typically include. Depending on their price, each package will have a different number of pages it will design for your website and the number of photos to include in your website will also differ.

Find out if flash and graphics will be included or not.

Typically, a budget package will include a custom design in your brand color or colors of your choice, domain name, hosting, email, company logo, HTML pages and images.

Getting a website designed is a big decision. If you end up choosing the wrong designer it will cost you more in the long run. Make your decision wisely. Meet up with the designer if possible, or at least talk to them on the phone. Ask them questions and let them ask you some as well.

The better a web designer understands your vision of your website, the better the end product will be.
